My Story

A Journey of Overcoming Challenges and Finding Purpose

My early years were challenging, filled with rehabilitation treatments and struggles with emotional regulation. My family, though loving, found it difficult to manage my intense behaviors.

After five years in a special education class, I began to communicate through writing and longed to be with my peers. I transitioned to a mainstream class and continued in regular classes through junior high, but emotional instability and stubbornness persisted.

Meeting Teacher Chen was a turning point. She introduced 5-sense massage therapy to build trust and encouraged me to express myself through art, which gave me a sense of accomplishment.

As my family and I planned for my future, we decided that I should attend Taichung Special Education School to develop vocational skills. My mother created the "Mantou Man Love Co-op" Facebook group, where I’ve been learning to manage orders and handle money, connecting with supportive fruit sellers along the way.

After graduation, I plan to continue my education with the Taiwan Autistic Arts Association. Recently, I won a national award in the picture book category at the National Disability Arts Awards, a testament to my progress.
