My Story
From Lines to Color: A Journey of Growth and Friendship
When A-Q first arrived, his mother brought a portfolio of his earlier drawings. Before joining TAAA, he mainly created line-based works and was reluctant to use color. Completing a fully colored artwork had rarely been part of his experience.
Rather than pushing technique, TAAA began with something he genuinely loved—his favorite clown character.
As the summer program progressed, A-Q gradually began adding color to his work. This became one of the most meaningful breakthroughs of his visit. He not only challenged himself to work on a large 4K-format drawing for the first time, but also stayed with the process from beginning to end.
By the end of the program, A-Q had completed the entire artwork—including the coloring. For him and his mother, this was far more than finishing a picture. It marked a shift from drawing only in lines to accepting color, sustaining the process, and completing a full work independently.
