Meet Yi-Hong

Unleashing Potential Through Discipline and Expression

2024 Yi Hong's Shaolin Kung Fu Showcase

@Tzu Chi Foundation's Xindian Jing Si Hall

Martial arts is not only a discipline, but a pathway through which Yi-Hong builds focus, balance, and confidence—expressing strength beyond words.

Yi-Hong Chen serves as Lead Delegate of the Autistic Stars Association and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education at National Dong Hwa University.

Diagnosed with autism in early childhood, Yi-Hong has developed a wide range of abilities through years of structured training in art, martial arts, language, and performance. His journey reflects a continuous process of growth—transforming challenges into pathways for expression and development.

Martial arts, in particular, has played a vital role in strengthening his physical coordination, focus, and confidence. Alongside artistic training, these disciplines have enabled him to communicate, connect, and express himself in meaningful ways.

Today, Yi-Hong is not only a learner, but also a mentor. He supports younger autistic students in art, language, and movement, guiding them to explore the world beyond their immediate environments and build confidence in their own abilities.

He believes that every individual has unique potential, and that through the integration of art and education, more inclusive opportunities can be created for autistic individuals to participate confidently in society.
